Lofty Ideas

What. An. Unbelievable. Sight. Is this not one of the most perfect lofts ever? Let’s see: bricks; large windows; in the city; wooden floorboard; neutral tones.
If this were in New York, this is probably my ideal living space. I’m in love!

This isn’t the ideal living space to me anymore—cramped, dim, restricted—but it’s a fond comparison of what was my own. My dorm room of three years looked similar to this: Christmas lights behind the wooden-beam headboard, toys and memorabilia above the headboard, photos on the wall behind my head, multiple pillows to keep me cozy, and easy access to the closet. A small space, a cozy space, a space to call my own.

I have always wanted a large walk-in closet with seating space in the middle so I can admire my clothes and take my time deciding what to wear. The light in this room almost looks like sunlight. I love the black and the white. Mind you, the clothes are all black or white too. I would hope my wardrobe is a little more colourful!

Ever since I discovered the W Hong Kong hotel through a blog two years ago, I wanted to experience the W for myself. I could not believe the glamour, the design, the luxury a hotel could offer even through looking at photos taken of it. My first W experience was in Montreal with my boyfriend. We had a marvelous time, experienced great service, and have been dying to go back ever since. I don’t think there are any hotels that come close to the fun and joy the W can bring. You must experience it for yourself. This W hotel in Lexington is absolutely breathtaking. I urge you to visit the ArchDaily link below to check out the rest of the suite.

Nothing like sunlight and a well-organized work room. I love the simplicity of this sewing room. The teapot on books and the clock resting on the artwork in the corner makes for nice touches. I love the soft and sheer curtains that allow sunlight in the room. Having a comfortable working space is important for any one who wishes to focus at home.

Another photo from the Pantone Hotel. Nothing but beauty.
Imagine waking up to the colours, the large windows, and the sunlight.

If I had access to this room for all those days I had to study for exams, I would probably have gotten even better marks. White furniture, wooden beams on the ceiling, sky light, long table: Beautiful.

When the boyfriend tweeted about this Pantone Hotel in Brussels, I knew I’d be in love before I even clicked on the link. The concept of a Pantone-themed hotel is ingenious. As a tourist, I don’t need my overnight stay in a foreign city to consist of fancy technology, a fully-equipped kitchen, and a vibrating bed. All I want is something interesting to look at, and, in this case, a splash of colour with a gimmicky touch will do just fine.

How many DVDs does a person have to own to fill all the storage space available in this bedroom? Despite the large quantity of items, there doesn’t seem to be a sense of being overwhelmed when I look at this room. The space is spacious and the high ceiling effectively adds to its grandness. The massive drawer is really to die for, except I am sure it would remain empty if in my possession. The potlights are fantastic, and I love the simple colour choice, using the bed accessories as accents.
I wonder what the other side of the camera looks like. Entertainment center? One can only dream…

My jaw dropped to the floor when I saw this. I think I died a little inside too. This is what dreams are made of. Am I dreaming this? This is perfect. I think this is absolutely perfect. I would love a wall like this, and it may seem like it’s too much, but talk about organization! This is the definition of the word. I love.
